!The West End is a high-density area consisting of mainly residential buildings. The neighbourhood’s commercial buildings line the busy streets of Denman, Robson, Burrard, and Georgia. The area is bordered by Stanley Park in the north, Georgia Street in the east, Burrard Street in the south, and English Bay in the west. The West End includes Davie Village, the area known for being the home of Western Canada’s largest LGBTQ community. Many unique Vancouver buildings can be found in the West End, such as the Sylvia Hotel, Eugenia Place, and the Cloud 9 rotating restaurant above the Empire Landmark Hotel. What once used to be a sparsely populated neighbourhood filled with mansions for the wealthy is now home to approximately 44,560 people, many of which are renters. Find out more below.
