Hamilton StreetHamilton Street was named for and by Alexander Lauchlan Hamilton, a commissioner for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The street is one of two major streets in Yaletown and has changed significantly since the area was first created. Hamilton street used to be lined with warehouses but nowadays the street is home to the Hamilton Street Grill, as well as hotels, shops and parks. The area tries to connect the new and the old and, in fact, there are new benches made of old wood from the Hamilton street warehouses lining the street.

Cambie StreetIn the early 80’s, Cambie Street was merely just an area deep in the forest. It was then created and named Cambie Street for the chief surveyor of the CPR’s western division, Henry John Cambie. Cambie Street has been there before the railway, Stanley Park, and even before the Parks Board was created. Now it is the place for all the best restaurants in Vancouver!
