In the spring of 2013, Marion Man, purchased the church building and renamed it Strathcona Church. Marion has been working as social worker in Chinatown for over thirty years and purchased the building because she felt led by the Holy Spirit. In 1910, the church building was built as the Lutheran Church for the Swedish community. But as the years passed, it became the St. Francis Xavier Church for the Chinese Catholic community, and then the Foursquare Korean Church and later they put the building up for sale. In 2013, The Chin Wei Family Foundation took over the building, and spent nine months on its renovation and now the building is called Strathcona Church and is the proud recipient of the 2015 City of Vancouver Heritage Award.
